Garden Update And Post Thanksgiving

Hope everyone is fully stuffed from your big bird and have lots of good memories under your belt besides turkey, stuffing, pie, etc. Our day was wonderful with lots of goodies to keep us in food for the next few days. Our table was graced with lots of wine, mostly Rieslings from Washington State, Three Mushroom Dressing, Cranberry and Apple Relish, Smashed Potatoes, Gravey, Pumpkin Pie and Mincemeat Pie. But the Highlight of the dinner table was Mike's grilled turkey straight off the hot charcoals. What a beauty! Good job Mike! It was all so yummy!

While I am listening to Christmas music this morning, I thought I would update you on the container garden!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and Enjoy Your Weekend!

Everything is growing beautifully! What kinds of beans are you growing? Isn't it fun to watch them twist and vine?

The only thing growing in my gardens now is moss - and it's doing very well...covering everything faster than I can pull it out! Love the pots of pole beans!
Pretty bird!

Deb, you're listening to Christmas music already?!?!

The garden is coming along a treat. How funny that there you are with the first tom's coming along nicely and I, in the bottom half of the world, am watching mine do the same thing!

Hi Deb,
The menu (including the wine!) sounds delicious and that bird looks like it was very nicely cooked.

You have a good weekend too.

Take care,
Nora
p/s: Did you have any leftovers?

That is one beautiful bird, I grilled lamb for thanksgiving but I am not sure if I am brave enough to try a whole 12 pound bird.

I love mincemeat pie, my Great Grandmother used to make real meat mincemeat pie and it was my favorite (even at age 6). I have a recipe in a CIA cookbook I have but it is for about 15 pounds of it. Maybe some day I will try to make it.

Yes I love the photo of Zora getting ready to stuff the turkey; she was so excited to be aloud to touch poultry and she did a great job.

And now I think I am going to go have some red truck wine.

Gorgeous looking bird! And your garden is growing wonderfully. Slightly jealous. I decided to let my soil rest over the winter and didn't plant any crops. Missing my harvests.

Hi Christina, I am growing Kentucky Pole Beans. They are amazing the way they grow!

Thanks Katie! It was yummy!

Hey Lucy, yes I start listening to it the day after Thanksgiving as I get excited for the upcoming holidays. Looking forward to a photo of your toms!

Hi Nora, yes we had turkey left over, but it is going quickly into soup and sandwich's!

Hi Shayne! Red Truck wine is very good. We have it hear quite often.

Hey Wendy, you had a spectacular garden this season. Now time for you to plan for next year!

Thanks Jenn, it was great!

The bird looks great! And it's cheering to see pictures of growing green things when everything here is going the other way...
